Descriptive Essay

Today, many people spend their nights at clubs. It is a social, and cultural experience. The sights, sounds, smell, and overall atmosphere fills the senses with input. Today s clubs should not be confused with the clubs of the seventies, now it is a cultural experience rather then a place to experiment with drugs and sexuality. Fashion, Class, and music are three factors that make up the club scene.

When one walks into a club a major thing that should be noticed is the fashion. Cloths make up a huge part of the experience; this is also a rapidly changing trend. Last year it was kaki pants and a loose sweater this year a guy would never think of wearing that to a club he would wear baggy jeans and a tight black sweater with low cut sketcher boots and two articles of silver jewelry. As for girls they should wear a tube top or a backless shirt with black pants or a black skirt and high shoes or sandals. Glittery makeup is acceptable on the eyelids but should not be put on the upper arms or chest. The cloths you wear to a club define who you are. If you wear something out of the norm you will be considered a newbie and probably have a hard time finding someone to dance with, because there won t be as many people with the same look.

Another factor that defines the club scene is class, depending upon where you go defines what sort of people will be there. One can go to a low-income club and it will be small with heavy security and being dressed down is acceptable. Whereas a higher income club will require a tucked

in shirt, dress shoes and no hats are permitted. The bar tenders also differ between the two types of clubs in a lower class club you will find poorly made mixed drinks and cheep beer in plastic cups, whereas in a good club the mixed drinks are professionally made and everything is served in chilled glasses. Lastly once a low class club gets busy the heat can become unbearable almost to a point where heat stroke could become a factor, with hundreds of hot sweaty bodies all moving as if in a sea. Yet at a higher-class place one still encounters the masses of people but without the overwhelming heat. No matter where you go the high or low class in the end the club scene is made up the music.

Music is the most important aspect of clubbing, weather its hip hop, techno, rave, progressive, house, or alternative the music makes the club scene. Before one even sets foot in a club they can here the beat, as one gets out of their car the experience begins. The music defines the club; it makes the people, move, they go out for the sounds. Standing on the dance floor with hundreds of other people seeing the lights and felling the bass in ones chest brings out a feeling of euphoria, it is an experience that will not be forgotten. Ears ringing and hearts pounding every one moves, and the music directs their feelings and defines their mood, it creates the atmosphere that is the club.

Fashion, Class, and Music, are all important aspects of the club scene. They define the experience that one walks away with when they leave a club. To describe the club scene one need only say that it is an experience.
